FAQ: What is the battery gas recombination rate for the LFP cells? Answer: There is no gas recombination rate given for the LFP cells. The gas recombination rate is an important value for charging the lead acid, Ni-CH and Ni.Mh cells. During the charge process these chemistries will release some gasses (typically Hydrogen H2). In order to prevent explosion the battery must be properly ventilated. That is why the gas recombination rate must be known. However the LiFePO4 cells do not release any gases during the operation. That is why there is no gas recombination rate specified for these cells. Additionally these LFP cells are 100% sealed with no possibility of release of the gas during normal operation. (The safety vent will open only in case of some overcharge hazardous situation). | |
