FAQ: Can you come to my place to make a repair for my product? Question: I have a charger that I purchased form your company some time ago. At that time price of the charger was more than EUR1000. Now the charger is defective and also after the warranty. How to repair this charger? I have some suggestions how to make the repair.
What do you think? Answer: We are sorry to hear that the product that you purchased from GWL has become defective after some time of using and is now after the warranty period. First of all, please take note of the warranty provided by the manufacturer. On the planet Earth (and in the whole universe) aging, degradation and erosion are a part of natural process of the existence. Simply said: people and things are getting older and stop working. This is a process we need to accept as a fact. That is why all products have some limited warranty. The manufacturer provides the warranty for the product. The distributor is a bridge between the manufacturer and the customer that helps you to deliver the product and take care about the customer during the warranty period. However when the warranty period is over, there is no obligation to provide additional services free of charge. In reality in many cases the costs of shipping, inspection of the product, detection of a problem, de-assembly, repair, re-assembly and shipping back of the product will cost by far more than the value of the product. Also some products are designed in a way that repair is not possible. This information should be considered individually before deciding about the repair. Also GWL is a distributor of the products. For most products we are not the manufacturer and we do not have the proper know-how of the internal structure of the products. That is why we cannot arrange for repair either at your place or in our place. For most products the repair is done by the manufacturer or the manufacturer provides replacement units based on some internal evaluation of the damage under warranty. In most cases we are not able to arrange for “on-site” repair or analysis. Also we cannot accept customers waiting in our company for repair or being present with our engineers during the repair. Note: for some special cases and project we may arrange for an individual project support and technical assistance. But such special cases need to bee discussed and arranged with the management of GWL in advance.
