The SBM01/20 can be directly installed for single cells. 

Note: this board is not designed for high voltage applications. It is not possible to connect multiple cells (many) with SBM01/20 in series.  The reason is that when connecting in series, the voltage in the circuit increases and the power transistors are not designed for the high voltage operation.  For more cells in series you should always us the proper type of SBM board for 4, 8, 12, 16 cells.
