FAQ: LTO – when available? Question: The LTO (lithium titanate oxide) battery technology was announced many years ago. Some companies started to use it commercially in 2008. Why do you not sell this technology in mass quantity? Why in 2015 do you just start offering the “testing products”? Answer: We can understand that some customers are upset about the slow progress of the battery technology. It is true that many companies speak about new revolutionary improvements while years pass by and these products are not commercially available. This kind of story is with the LTO technology. Even though this technology has been theoretically available for many years, it is only in 2015 that this technology got into the hands of real battery producers who wish to make business for mass customers. And even these producers start rather carefully with initial production batches, so that customers may test the applications and provide feedback for additional technical improvements. At GWL we started tests of the LTO products and hope to introduce these to wider customer audience. Keep following us for more details on the real products available. | |
