FAQ: Charging a large battery pack

Question: I have made a pack of 4x 12V/90AH LP battery in parallel. When I charge the pack the charging time is very long. I have a 12V 5A charger. What should I do?

Answer: Based on the information above, the total capacity of the pack is 12V/360Ah.  When charging with 12V/5A charger, you will need some 72 hours (3days) to charge this capacity. 

For faster charging you may need to use a faster charger. For example the 12V/100A charger that will shorten the charging to some 4 hours.  Additionally for some installation it may be possible to have more chargers in parallel and this way to speed up the charging.
