Overcharge and life-span

![]()
Overcharge and life-span The theoretical diagram shows the influence of the overcharge on shortening of the life-span for the LiFePO4 cells. The regular life-span when charging to 3.65V is usually 2000 cycles. When increasing the charge voltage (and thus overcharging the cells) the life span will be shortened significantly. The overcharge situation may happen withing the battery pack, when one of the cells becomes imbalanced and overcharged. The capacity of such a cell may start dropping quite fast just during a few dozens of cycles. | |
