Lithium Titanate Cells - resistance to mechanical abuse

The nano structure of the lithium titanium oxide (LTO) cells guarantees a very safe and moderate energy release during the instances of a mechanical abuse.

In case of an accident (mechanical crush), severe internal damage (e.g. cutting apart) or even outside conductive particle penetration (nail penetration), there is no thermal runaway, no burst of fumes, no fire, no explosion.

In these extreme mechanical accidents the LTO cells will not over heat, max a thermal or explosive release. The surface temperature of the cells will stay bellow 80°C.
