FAQ: How to connect LAN-MODULE to Thingspeak.com server?
The web server www.thingspeak.com is a free application that allows to log and display to display the data collected by LAN-Module V 2.0 online. Follow the steps to configure your LAN Module for working with Thingspeak.com. (based on firmware v3.03)
- Make your account at Thingspeak.com server and create channel
- Open the channel and copy the “Write API key” into clipboard, you will need it later
- Connect to your LAN Controller web interface over network and select “Network Config” menu
- Find “HTTP client settings” in Network Config setting and include following data:
A - Server address: api.thingspeak.com B - Port: 80, Time: 5 (time is in seconds, less than “5” is not recommended) C - Remote URL: GET /update?key=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&field1=#14&field2=#16
Where “XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX” is your “Write API key” from Thingspeak.com
Notes (and exmples):
&field1=#14 - display LAN Module INP2 at field1 of your thingspeak.com channel
&field1=#14&field2=#16: display LAN Module INP2 AND IMP4 at field1 and field you’re your thingspeak.com channel
There is a space (“ “) between GET and “/“!
Watch your graphs online at https://thingspeak.com/channels/YYYYY/ where “YYYYY” is name of your channel. Please note that you must allow the public viewing by clicking “Make Public?” at Channel Settings menu. You can also download CSV file from thingspeak.com and make more detailed graphs.
