FAQ: Is your charging cable compliant with EU norms? The charging cable is a set of components for further installation. The cable itself, the connector and the EVSE board are sub parts that were manufactured according to all relevant standards. In this view it is compliant with all standards. In installations for private use, the cable does not need any further assessment as to its compliance. However, for the integration in solutions to be marketed to the public, it is the final product (e.g. charging station) that needs to be compliant as a whole. For example there are different technical norms that apply for the design of charging stations at completely outdoor locations (with little risk of fire) and different standards apply for charging stations in indoor installations especially deep-underground garages (with high risk of fire). You should contact your local certification authority if you need help on the compliance assessment. | |
