QUESTION: I  have received the cells in one delivery, when I check the cells serial numbers, they are not from one series, and the series numbers of the cells are various. Also the production date seems to be different. What should I do?

The cells are manufactured in series and they are marked by the production date and series number. This is to identify the cells for the manufacturing purposes. After the cells are produced, they are stored in manufacturer’s warehouse where they wait for the delivery. As the time passes, cells from various batches and production dates gather together. Thus when the cells are shipped, the original shipment from the factory may contain a various batches from various production dates. Please note that the production batch numbers serve for an internal identification purpose. No matter what the production batch is, all the cells have the same specifications and warranty conditions given by the manufacturer.

Similar situation repeats in the central warehouse, e.g. in the GWL warehouse in Europe. As new shipments arrive, they mix with the previous supplies in the warehouse. Of cause in most cases the first-in first-out principle is applied. This means the older stock supplies are delivered first and the new supplies are delivered afterwards. In some cases it may be possible that products from various deliveries from the manufacturing factory are shipped together in one consignment to the customer.  Again, no matter what the production date is, the specifications of the cells are the same. The warranty is based on the delivery date from the warehouse, not based on the internal batch number. The warranty for the products is identical.

QUESTION: I have received the cells from your company, how do I know that I received the latest goods?

We have no reason to keep the goods on stock. Our goal is to sell fast and satisfy the customer demands. As explained above the cells are produced in batches. Some cells may be produced quite often, perhaps every 6 weeks; some types of cells are produced less frequently as the demand is built-up. They may be produced only two times or even just once in a year. Such cells may be left in factory warehouse for many weeks before they are delivered to the distributor.

In the distributor’s warehouse the same situation may repeat, some hot cells are sold quite fast, some special models are left on stock for many months. Simply said the warehouse is balancing the demands of customers with the production deliveries from the factory.

When putting these factors together, it some cases, it may take several months, or even more than one year before the cells are delivered to the customer.  This fact does not change the warranty conditions for the customers: The warranty is always based on the delivery date from the warehouse, so it is the same no matter when the cells were actually produced.

QUESTION: In the last delivery of cells, I noticed that same cells were marked by some codes (like A, B, C) and there are some handwritten numbers on the side of the cells. What does it mean?

These are some internal markings by the manufacturer. There is no identification provided to the distributor or customers. The LiFePO4 cells are raw chemical heavy industrial products, so the marking or other production signs are part of the production process. From the customer point f view, all the cells are provided with the same specifications and warranty. In case of any issues related to the performance of the cells or pertaining to the manufacturer’s warranty, be sure to contact the distributor for help.
