Cell Balancing Module (and other components) production tolerance

FAQ: I have few CBM boards I purchased some time ago. Now I purchased new ones for additional cells (I increase the voltage of the pack).  The new CBM have slightly higher balancing voltage level. Why is this so?

Answer: The CBM boards and many other components are pieces of ordinary electronics to provide basic function at a reasonable cost. They are not industrial or military-grade components.

For ordinary electronic components the usual tolerance for basic parameters is +/- 3%. That is why the same products from different production batches (or even from the same delivery batch) may show slightly different parameters within the usual tolerance.
