EVBIKE 250W or 500W?  Is it legal? Yes!

The European power limit for e-bikes is 250W. This limit is only for street-legal driving. This means for driving on public roads. For driving on outside public roads (fields, forests, and private roads) there is no limit for power and no other limit.

It is fully legal to have a high power motor installed with software power regulation by means of the motor controller. This means you can regulate the power to legal 250W limit for driving on public streets and switch to full power when you get to off-road riding.
