BMS123 Smart Support for CANBus

Question: Will BMS123 Smart send out signals to my inverter as needed? (E.g. CAN open high and CAN open low.)

No. The BMS123 Smart does not support CANBus itself. The reason is that the BMS itself is a low power device. The operation of the CAN bus requires continued drain from the batteries, so it should be working only when the batteries are actively charged or discharged. When in standby the CAN Bus will drain the batteries to empty during several days (depending on the size of the pack.)

You can get the support for CANBus through the BMS123 Smart - Extended Module. The BMS will send 8 different CAN bus messages.
