Serial connection of 12V batteries with PCM and bluetooth

Question:

I need 48V LiFePO4 battery and I want to use 4 pcs of 12V batteries https://www.ev-power.eu/LiFeYPO4-batteries-12V-1-1/LiFePO4-Battery-12V-22Ah-with-PCM-and-Bluetooth.html in serie connection.

Is it possible to do it?

 

Answer:

This connection is not possible. This battery integrates protective PCM module with Bluetooth monitoring which can not work in 48V system. The integrated PCM module and bluetooth monitoring will be demaged so you will not be able to monitor and the battery will not be protected against overcharging and undercharging anymore if these batteries or their 11Ah version will be connected in serial.

Parallel connection to increase capacity is possible. Applications for monitoring can monitor max. 10 pieces of the batteries.

If you need to create a 48V battery, you can use a single 3.2V LiFePO4 cells ie. https://www.ev-power.eu/LiFePO4-special-cells/ + protective board https://www.ev-power.eu/SBM-CBM-1-1/
