FAQ: AKUMON - the LED indicators

Question: What is the function of the 4 LED (diodes) on the Akumon 12V lithium battery management board?

Answer:  the LED marked as D9 (red) indicates the balancing of the battery.  D10 indicated the over voltage level.  D11 gives optical indication of the low voltage level.  D12 gives warning when the traction battery is connected with the reverse polarity.

 

 

Please note that when the battery is connected with the reverse polarity, the battery will be slowly discharged through the balancing resistor. In order to prevent this from happing the LED D12 gives the reverse polarity indication.
