FAQ: AKUMON - the external load

Question: What is the size of the external resistor that can be connected to the EXT output to increase the balancing of the battery?

Answer: The size of the internal resistor is 47 Ohm. This means the standard ballacing current at 17V is about 0.4A.  If you want to increase the ballancing current you can connect the external load (Rx resistor). Please see the specification of the external balancing load.

 

Please note: for currents above 3 amps, there is a need for cooling of the power MOSFET transistor on the AKUMON board. You can attach the aliminium cooler or use a small computer fan. The small FAN can be powered from the EXT output.
