RT-BMS sofware configuration parameters (obsolete)

Cell settings

  • Cut-off voltage – the lowest voltage level. When this level is reached on any of the cells, the “Main Current” signal (B3 connector) will turn off.  We recommend setting of 2.60V for the TS cells.
  • Low voltage – the low voltage level. This voltage level indicates that cells are near to full discharge. We recommend setting of 2.75V for the TS cells.
  • Nominal voltage – the balancing voltage during charging. As soon as the voltage of any cell reaches the Nominal voltage, the balancing of the respective CBU module starts working. We recommend setting of 3.65V for the TS cells.  (Additionally after Nominal voltage is reached during charging, the “Charging Current 2 – Full Power” signal (B6 connector) will turn off.  (The charger should reduce the charging current to small power – i.e. the finishing power)
  • Charge Voltage – the highest voltage level.  When this level is reached on any of the cells, the “Charging Current 1 – Main or Small Power” signal (B5 connector) will turn off.  (The charger should shop charging immediately.)

Battery settings

  • Cell counts – we recommend to use automatic counting of the CBU modules. The BMS Master detects the number of cells automatically during the power-up sequence. (We do not recommend to use the manual setting – (marked “dangerous!”) – as you may loose control of some cells if you enter a wrong value.
  • Capacity (Ah) – always set the capacity according to the poorest cell in your battery string. (E.g. if you have an old pack with nominal 40AH cells, having real capacity ranging from 35Ah to 42Ah, you should set 35Ah).
  • Cooling temp © – you can start cooling of the battery pack when the temperature exceed this setting. The Battery Cooling signal (B8 connector) will become active.  (Hysteresis – the temperature needs to drop by the number of degrees C to turn off the cooling. We recommend to set aprox. 5 deg. C)
  • Heating temp ©– you can start warming of the battery pack when the temperature goes bellow this setting. The Battery Warming signal (B7 connector) will become active.  (Hysteresis – the temperature needs to increase by the number of degrees C to turn off the warming. We recommend to set aprox. 5 deg. C)
  • Charge fuse (A) – electronic protection against over charge current. If set to “0”, the protection does not work. The charging current signals will turn off if over charge current was reached.
  • Discharge fuse (A) – electronic protection against over discharge current. If set to “0”, the protection does not work. The Main Current signal will turn off if over discharge current was reached.  (Note: we urgently recommend to use mechanical fuses and circuit breakers when working with any batteries.)

Signalization adjust

  • These setting allow to adjust the analog indicators connected to pin 6 to pin 9 of the A connector. (E.g. when set to 0.0 and 100.0 the analog indicators will work in 0V to 3.3V range.

System setting section

  • These settings are preset during BMS testing. There is no need for the BMS user to change these setting. If you need any help concerning these settings, please contact us.
