FAQ: The the capacity of LFP and LTO the same?

Q: In my scooter, I have a battery pack with LFP cells 24V 40AH. I consider I upgrade the pack to LTO cells 24V 40AH.  How will the driving distance change?

A: If you change the LFP battery pack for the new pack with LTO cells of the same capacity, there will be no change in the driving distance. Since the electrical capacity is the same, and the electrical performance of the LTO and LFP is nearly identical, there will be no special change of behavior of the battery pack.

When to use the LTO packs rather then LFP batteries:

  • you need high speed charging and discharging
  • you look for a battery with a better performance in cold temperatures
  • you have a equipment that is charged often
  • you require a very long life span (> 2000 cycles)
  • you have special safety requirements
