Do not forget about fuses!

Always use fuses in your DC installations. Even the 12V circuits need to have a proper type of fuse corresponding to the expected current in the circuit.

For 12V a 24V DC applications with low currents (up to 40Amp) it is possible to use the automotive fuses.
