FAQ: Monitoring the solar panels with microinverters

Question: I have a small installation with just a few solar panels and microinverters. Is there some easy way to monitor this installation without the need to use some external monitoring system (like SEDAS or other)?

Answer: There are smart AC energy meters available on the market. These have AC current sensors that can measure the energy without interrupting the wires.  Some of these units allow connecting more sensors to monitor individual wires or sections.

Just check at your local electric supply shop or hobby market to see what is available.
