FAQ: Upgrading the EVBike WheelKit battery from 36V to 48V

Question: I have the EVBike kit with 36V battery. I consider changing to 48V battery. Is it possible?

Answer: Yes, it is possible. The EVBike WheelKit supports a software change of the voltage of the battery pack. This means you can change from 36V to 48V and the controller hardware supports these voltages. The controller allows a complex setting of the voltage levels of the battery pack. Please see the Advanced manual for the EVBike WheelKit.  The parameter P5 defines the nominal voltage of the battery: value 15 is for a 36V battery pack, value 30 is for 48V pack.  Additionally the C12 parameter sets the battery disconnection voltage level.

Note: this information is only for the EVBike WheelKit purchased after middle of 2015.
